Liam Gallagher's brother...

BBC news website has quoted the Oasis website (taking ages to load) that
Noel Gallagher has left the band after a series of arguments with his brother Liam. All concerts have been cancelled.

"This is the worst day ever." said a fan s'where!!

best news ive heard in ages :) but the champagne's on hold till i hear they're permenantly unable to make 'music' any longer.

I'm still undecided about them tbh. Not sure if they have any really good songs

Eleven out of twelve tracks on Definitely Maybe, Wonderwall, Some Might Say, D'You Know What I Mean?, and erm... that's it really.

Liam was Oasis anyhow, and he gave it up in about 1996.

They don't. At best derivative at worst shite.

you make a convincing argument, but you could say the same about a lot of big bands tbh... I think they might actually have been pretty decent, especially considering the influence of their first few albums. On the other hand their back catalogue isn't anywhere near that of a band of their stature imo - there's just so much shite in there!

nope, flatpopely is bang on. i actually think they're the worst band there's ever been. Their Awesome Flagon is better- I'm not kidding either.

Not the worst surely; Kasabian, Starsailor, Snow Patrol.........the list is endless.

On a serious note, I never ever understood the whole brit pop and post brit pop scene. It seems as though its aimed at people who have a problem with life but the solution is in superficial music.

I mean come on The Smiths et al, its just 80s Bob Dylan; and he was a moaning bugger............contraversial I know but his music is just, well, not musical.

I'll get my coat.

Captain - you never got Oasis because you're too old - simple as that. Aside from Liam getting bored with Oasis a long time ago, that's probably why I lost interest.

Andrew, the only people who ever talk(ed) of 'Brit Pop' are lazy journalists and the readers of their middle-aged man music magazines. Ironically, the same sort of people who probably now can't wait for a new Noel/Weller album or whatever.

If you ever saw The Stone Roses for the first time on Rapido, or Oasis playing Supersonic for the first time, you'd maybe have liked them. Instead, despite being a top bloke, you stick up for tax specialists U2, who last made a record worth hearing when I was about twelve!

Steady on old bean! I was young and around when the Word et al was around. I just find the whole musical genre bland and unemotional.
Its music for the quick thrill, I am entitled to everything, generation.

Watched Marillion play on the Tube; now that's what I'm talking about.
Market Square Hero......mint.

I quite liked the theme tune they did for The Royle Family, but if you grew uo with the Beatles, Kinks, Who and Small Faces you could hear only too clearly what Oasis were plagiarising.
