Dump The Guardian!

It has been a major part of the massive anti-Corbyn propaganda campaign over the last few years.

Dump the Guardian!

The Guardian has spent the last two years relentlessly attacking Jeremy Corbyn. Only recently has it changed its tune, perhaps worried that it has alienated too many readers. Corbyn's success has been despite the Guardian and the rest of the corporate media. The Guardian will now want readers to forget its propaganda war on Corbyn. We've compiled this list so they don't. Dump the Guardian!

Max,

Do you think this is why Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party are, at best, only neck and neck with the Conservatives in the opinion polls at the moment?

Given the Conservative government's many problems, you'd think that Labour would be streets ahead by now, but they aren't.

I'm a centrist and wouldn't vote for either, but that's neither here nor there.

LOL, the Trump, Russia Today and Assange stooge/apologist actually criticises a proper newspaper? I think we can safely say The Guardian wasn’t brought to us by 45,000 Russian Brexit-bots!

Nevertheless their Corbyn coverage was shameful, and their assessment of Labours election chances under him woefully Blairite.
And wrong.
They were complete sh1ts during the miners strike too.
I didn't buy or read the Graun for many years because of this.

The Guardian were appalling to Corbyn prior to the last general election. Polly Toynbee, Owen Jones, Nick Cohen, John Harris, Suzanne Moore and others were all complete fcukwits about him, as you can see in Max's link http://theguardian.fivefilters.org. Some still are.

My guess is a lot of this is down to Corbyn supporting the liberation of Palestine. The fact that he thinks the United Kingdom should unilaterally recognize Palestine as a state won't have helped.

The Guardian's track record of hating Corbyn, and its acceptance of all sort of neoliberal hogwash, is the reason I don't buy it any more.

I can always read the occasional Paul Mason article in The Guardian online for free.

I’m trying to figure out who is behind the FiveFilters.org blog MaxF is now citing as the truth and light. The term ‘five filters’ appears to originate from leftist intellectuals Herman & Chomsky, but no clue at all who is the editorial or financing body for the fivefilters.org site. As such it can only be filed under the usual blog/echo-chamber type resources.

DUMP THE FLINN!

The Guardian is the last remaining decent UK newspaper. You dump that, and you've surrendered to the shadowy world of news based purely on some ignoramus' ill informed views.

That site reeks of Putin and his gang of news manufacturers. Note that Chomsky et al have nothing to do with the site, though the "About" section could trick you into believing otherwise.

First thing I did was to WhoIs it, but whatever it is it is hidden behind a ‘Respect my privacy LLC’ registration, i.e. they don’t want you to know.

I find myself increasingly at odds with The Guardian over their excessively "right on", "champagne socialism" stance in as much as so much of their output is of the "Infant school fails to provide dolls to boys and action men to girls! What a disgrace!" type articles and obsession with transgender rights etc. Combined, these sort of articles can be half of their output on some days! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not against rights for transgender people etc but what percentage of the population do they represent? How many such people have you ever met? One could be forgiven for assuming each town had its transgender district where thousands of them live, judging by the typical two news items or opinion pieces a day devoted to them!

I should think that for every transgender person there are probably 10,000 others who could come under the umbrella of "being harmed by tory austerity, zero hour contracts, disability cuts, the housing crisis etc"... and yet The Guardian gives only about the same amount of coverage of the issues facing all these people combined as it does to issues affecting only transgender people! In a supposedly left wing newspaper....

Then there will be a whole page article bemoaning the fact that the average women loses half an hour a month shopping for tampons whilst men don't or some such... No shit Sherlock... and that's news? Or warrants a whole page opinion piece?

They have at least been doing some soul-searching. This is remarkable from Viner, given that it was under her editorship that the paper decided to double down on its blinkered centrism instead of asking what the Corbyn phenomenon actually meant:

"But our guiding focus, especially in countries such as Britain, the US and Australia, will be to challenge the economic assumptions of the past three decades, which have extended market values such as competition and self-interest far beyond their natural sphere and seized the public realm. We will explore other principles and avenues through which to organise society for the common good."

https://www.theguardian.com/news/2017/nov/16/a-mission-for-journalism-in-a-time-of-crisis

Since she goes on to say that they will be canvassing right as well as left wing opinion for the purposes of this challenge you do have to wonder if she's joined the dots. Also how TF the likes of Freedland, Kettle, Cohen, Crace etc. are supposed to contribute to this new focus is beyond me: their sheer lack of political knowledge or nous was made embarrassingly clear by the general election and yet they're all still there. So far I don't really see how they've changed, or how they intend to.

In a world full of The Daily Mail, Sun, Express, Breitbart, UKIP, Trump, 45,000 Russian Brexit-bots, Britain First etc etc along with an idiotic blogsite for every view imaginable I find the Guardian refreshingly comforting and normal. I’ll take it over the alternates, though I have to admit I just read the odd article online these days. I don’t think I’ve bought a newspaper this century!

PS I’ve never noticed even the slightest hint of ‘transgender bias’, but it isn’t a subject I have any knowledge or interest about beyond a general ‘live and let live’ anti-authoritarianism attitude.

Come on Max, out with the Israeli connection! Has the Guardian been infiltrated by the all-powerful internationl Jewish lobby? Is Mossad now manning the switchboard? Does the editor's wife have a cousin who went to school with a Jewish girl who now lives in Tel Aviv, and is believed to have once met Ben Gurion's great-niece at the Tel Aviv Opera House production of "Lucia Di Lamermoor", only hours before a crucial meeting of extreme, extreme-right political bent on the extermination by death ray from outer space of anybody called Abdul or Mohammed? There seems to be a columnist called Cohen at the Guardian! That's a dead give away, surely?

He's right...any paper with a political agenda should fvck off. Or at least stop calling themselves newspapers. Won't leave many, I confess....

Most people here post links from the Guardian, like it is going to win people over. It's not, it's merely part of the PFM echo chamber.

Here we go from front page of on-line Guardian site and took 5 seconds to find.. as usual... https://www.theguardian.com/global/...ple-children-suicide-bullying-rightwing-media

Yes it's still better than any other paper though over all.
