    What to do with CDs?

I recently had the same thoughts. Some record stores that offer s/h CD's and LP's offer cash money for your CD's. (probably won't be much though, as s/h CD's already sell for very little money) I replaced the jewel cases from all my CD's (appr. 650) years ago, for soft, plastic sleeves. Saves...

Let’s hear it for Rega gear

    Aha, didn't know that. 👍🤓

Let’s hear it for Rega gear

I don't know, Countryman. I found the picture on a Facebook page called "Rega research limited fans", but no info regarding a release date.

Let’s hear it for Rega gear

Just noticed that Rega is coming with a P3 TT in a light oak finish. NICE! :) Funny coincidence is... a few weeks ago, for a minute or so, I thought... "Now,...if Rega would ever come up with say a P3 in light-oak, ...I'd be tempted!". 🤔😏 Every now and then I think about getting back into...

    Naim Nait 2 vs

I agree with you Mr. Pig. Both are indeed really good and great vfm. I think it al comes down to personal preference/taste in sound. I do feel that the IO is closer in its sonic character to the Nait 2 though, compared to the Brio-r.

    Naim Nait 2 vs

A Rega IO would certainly be worth a try. It's a gem and great vfm. In my experience (had both) the little IO is a better amp than the Brio-r. (might surprise him and save him a lot of cash!) Most of the CB/Olive pre-power combo's would also be safe bet. (due to the age of these amps a recap...

    Sonneteer amps

As far as I know the Campion was Sonneteers first amp, followed by the Alabaster. I remember that the Sonneteer dealer I regularly visited in the mid/late 90's wasn't very keen on the the then new Bronte amp. If memory serves me well the Orton came after the Bronte, but looking back I think it...

    Sonneteer amps

I almost bought myself a mint Campion (old version, without the internal phonostage) a few months ago. The seller happened to be the repair mechanic for the first Sonneteer dealer in Holland. This Campion was as good as new, and completely serviced/recapped. Asking price was €900,- though...

    Sonneteer amps

Not sure, but I think the latest was the Orton.

    Sonneteer amps

Unfortunately they stopped (making amps) about 9/10 years ago. (if memory serves me well the Alabaster was offered a few years longer) I think I'd buy a Sonneteer Campion, in the blink of an eye if they were still made. Great sound, great build, timeless design! In short superb VFM. :)

    Naim NAIT 5i Owners Question

You can't power on/off the Nait 5i by remote. (it's best to have the amp (like all Naim components) powered on 24/7 as adviced by Naim. The amp gives a rather nasty, loud plop through the speakers when it's powered on)

    Rega IO vs. Brio 2017

    Thanks for the reassurance, Henricus.

    Rega IO vs. Brio 2017

One thing that still makes me wonder about the IO: As it can turn quite warm at times (depending on the volume and/or speaker sensitivity I assume) and all the components are cramped inside the little box with no ventilation holes, I'm wondering if it would have an effect on the capacitors...

    Rega IO vs. Brio 2017

Thank you for sharing your observations on the IO. I also find it lively and energetic, Perhaps at times even a little forward (just the way I like it), though I wouldn't call it rough. (it sounds more refined than my Naim Nait 5i-2) Perhaps a s/h Brio-r might just be your cup o' tea. (I found...

    Rega IO vs. Brio 2017

In theory you are right. Setting the digital volume of the Node to 100% should give the best sound quality. Personally though, I haven't been able to notice a difference. (neither with other streamers I used in the past, like the Sonos Connect and Logitech Squeezebox Touch) If there is a sonic...
