Luxman SQ 507-X (powerful, somewhat soft sound) (1982, second hand)
Harman Kardon PM 645 vxi (hard and flat, not nice at all) (1987)
Cyrus One (fine, if low powered, should have changed my speakers instead) (1992)
Arcam Delta 290 (a mistake really, sorry to say) (1993)
Naim Nait 3 (brilliant, wiped the floor with Arcam) (1995)
Naim Nait Two (best amp ever!) (2004, second hand, mine is of late 1992 vintage)

God most of you daft buggers have wasted serious amounts of money before you've presumably arrived at amps you're happy with. Maybe should be another thread about how much money you've spent/wasted. It's really about playing music in a listenable way you know!
My amps?
Started with a leak 15 watter. then a Pioneer SA6200 which was bought to match TU (I think) 6200 Pioneer Tuner.
Then an A & R A60 which I used for 33 years, recently replaced with a Rega Mira 3 which I hope to keep for another 33 years or more!

Wow, we've all come a long way over the years.

My very first was a Rotel RA 611 (about £30 from Comet in the 70's). Compared to the Dansette, it was magnificent.

Along came a Quad 33/303 (s/h) followed by a 34/405.

Linn's Kairn grabbed me and was partnered by a apir of s/h Linx Stratos Monobloc power amps - again s/h (they now live in the loft in their boxes).

Many years passed until a s/h Linn Klout blew them away.

Two more Klouts and and Aktive box now power Isobariks. They may not be fashionable but they continue to be superb.

The bottom line is, I suppose, new stuff may be good by sound/per pound - second hand is, by far, the winner.

Enjoy the music.

Prior to 1972 amplification was usually part of a "music centre".

No plans at this stage for any changes (Acts of God and burglars permitting)

1966 - Cossor valve radio, followed by second (unknown) radio when I went stereo after the first four LPs
1971 - Nikko, from the shark-infested waters of Tottenham Court Road. Herring, have you still got this?
1974 - Sugden A48
1978? - Sugden A48 II - kept it till finger grease dissolved the nextel finish on the volume knob

1993 - Naim 112/150 (think I was seduced by the looks(!))
2009 - Avondale M130s followed by G1/TPX2 - and then we moved house again ...
2011 - Naim 152XS/155XS/FlatcapXS - I really tried to break away from the Naim fold, but these were better than the other stuff I auditioned. Perhaps my ageing ears have been conditioned (I've been Naimwashed?), but hell it works for me!
