Whisky II

10% off at House of Malt this weekend with code ‘Spring10’
Fill yer boots
https://www.houseofmalt.co.uk/
Anyone caved in?
I'm holding out but tempted by the 2022 Bunna 12 CS (which I have spares of and don't need but it's bloody lovely), Old Perth Pedro Ximenez and, in my wilder moments:
https://www.houseofmalt.co.uk/product/bunnahabhain-18-year-old/
The discount is added to the sale so it works out at £106. I'm cautioned by Ralfy giving it an 82 and saying don't pay more than £80. (chance would be a fine thing).
And the fact that I'm skint.

Funnily enough I was contemplating the Bunna 18 myself. Last bottle (2021) was delicious, and we may look back all misty eyed at that price one day…

Might also be tempted by the Lafrog Cairdeas when it’s released on Tuesday.

Is Tuesday too late for discount code?

OK, I'm not a whisk(e)y drinker, or even a drinker at all, but I noticed an advert for this in today's Belfast Telegraph:

https://www.bushmills.eu/whiskeys/30-year-old/

Bushmills Distillery, in the Co. Antrim town of the same name, is the oldest legal whisk(e)y distillery in the world. It is just down the road from the Giant's Causeway, allowing one to get stoned in two entirely different ways in a single day. A steal at £1900...

I'll see your Bushmills and raise a Macallan. 43% as well...the cheek of them. £3,999.

And then there's Hibiki:
https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/50647/suntory-hibiki-30-year-old £7,500 and also only £43%

QI, especially as he also mentions some 30yos with "reasonable" RRPs:

New Lochlea cask strength in at Whisky Exchange & Robbie’s. £65 is pretty damn reasonable for a CS release I reckon.

Its everywhere, inbox, socials, some random telling me about on the walk home...Just another churn out of several weekly releases, I think I hear a creak. The Feis Ile stuff came out in the past few days as well, the Mac Talla sounds interesting. Milroys of Soho released a couple of indy bottles, the Ben Nevis from them sounded interesting too.

I combined two hobbies today - whisky and cycling - by doing a cycle ride from my cottage past 3 of the local distilleries: Tomintoul, Glenlivet and Tamnavulin.
