What has happened to (small) speaker prices

I noticed the other day thst the current iteration of the Spendor SP2 is £3600. That's more than I'd spend on a mountain bike!

It's very nearly more than I'd spend on a car these days! It's not that I'm short of money you understand, just extremely tight when it comes to fast depreciating consumer goods. At my age I'd rather spend the money on my personal vices!

The only time I buy new hi fi kit is when it's an outrageous bargain. I think that's twice in the last 10 years.
