I don't think that the Jam were bogus- there's a lot of heartfelt articulate rage in that stuff. I seem to be in a minority here, in that I liked a lot of what the Style Council did too
Walls Come Tumbling Down second up (?) at Live Aid was a tremendously brave and stellar performance - one of the highlights of the show. What's not to like?
I never really get the sniffy attitude towards Weller, he’s had a great career & continues to make music to a high standard. If he was American he would probably be venerated.
I fail to see how The Jam were bogus; plenty around that scene that were though including The Clash.
