What are you listening to right now #64

John Graas – Jazz-Lab-1. 1956 UK issue.

French horn led west coast jazz. A touch polite perhaps but some atmospheric arrangements for this large group and rather nice on a sunny spring morning.

Tom Misch - Quarantine Sessions.
He is an excellent and very unique sounding if you've not heard him before... This particular album has many (excellent) covers... But he also has several other totally original albums. I also own Geography and Beat Tape2 on vinyl too.

He's definitely worth a listen.

Twenty-four hours of Ornette Coleman (or at least the current part of it) on WKCR to celebrate his birthday. Tomorrow they have twenty-four hours of Bix Beiderbecke for the same reason. Why is WKCR not yet recognised as a global treasure?

Did Bix actually record 24 hours of music? Records were pretty concise in those days.
