i seem to remember this getting a slagging off in the NME because Rod didn’t sing lead vocal in title track - I always loved Ronnie Lane’s voice (and musicianship)

I don't think I've ever heard this - or any Santana after Abraxas ( I only have the first record but lots of mates had Abraxas back then) . I know @mikechadwick has posted it a few times in the thread.

So it a record I need to check out? Is it timeless or of its time and you had to be there?

imho it's really the only other essential Santana album after Abraxas
