A mystery surrounds this album. I bought it on release, when I was still at at school, but the version I dug out last night is a 1989 reissue on Edsel. I have no recollection of losing/selling the original, or of buying a replacement copy. I suspect supernatural forces are at work.

Van Halen have always left me rather cold, but this is one of those weird records from someone you don't expect that has aged amazingly well and is way better and more interesting than you remember or it needed to be.
