Been listening to XTC since the very start, and this is my absolute favourite
This is a stunning album. The orchestrations are amazing. A different twist to their sound. So different from the next album - recorded at the same time - Wasp Star which is also superb but with more pop songs and electric guitar

Hardly played it because I have the record (doesn’t everyone?
)
Playing it now, and enjoying the album for the first time in a while.
(makes me think of my first Wife, but only briefly.)

R&J is a masterpiece of course (Roy 'the Professor' Bittan plays the keys I think) and Tunnel of Love is great too lyrically, but horribly overblown to me
