Surprise, surprise. Brexit Barbie and Mr. Sunbed-Tice are humping each other and the pair of them are humping the country. She makes public the stolen files damning a public servant and he puts himself forward as the victim’s replacement. The utterly corrupt Brexit Company.
Meanwhile, it’s looking like the culprit has been identified already.

PS the OSA does not dictate what can or can't be published, the AG has to make that decision on a case by case basis, the OSA is deliberately ambiguous for this reason (I know the OSA very well having been bound by it and others for the last 30 years)

There is an interesting typo in your first para above where you use "publics interest" rather than the correct term "public interest". However regardless of your opinion, the police do have a duty to investigate where material covered by any level of government classification has been published without the required authority. If they find grounds for a prosecution, this may then lead to a prosecution. Then for a court to decide, not you or me.

BTW I signed the relevant section statement for the old OSA rather longer ago than 30 years. And one reason there has been a delay in my writing my next 'biography' webpage (covering the late 1990s) is that I've been working out what I can mention and what I can't. The bulk of my research work at the time was MoD funded and I was essentially 'rented out' to them by my old Uni.

I appreciate the leaks may sell newspapers and titilate some readers. But that is quite different to the 'National Interest' in terms of the OSA, document classification and control, etc.

A message has no information content if it is what professional comms specialists refer to as "the bleedin' obvious". :) Hence since no information was actually 'disclosed' by the banner, the OSA probably wouldn't get used.

BTW that might be an interesting defence in the case we're discussing. :)
