Thrashed my way round 18 holes at golf with my mates.
The upside is that my back has not subsequently seized up.

A six-mile there-and-back cross-country yomp for provisions. Caught in a couple of heavy showers crossing fields, but quickly found helpful trees. However, the civilly disobedient march through the golf course rough got me soaked up to the knees. And made me realise that my boots are in no way waterproof.

An interesting day. A rip roaring hangover after a cracking night out in Manchester (commercial do for media types). Bought a bacon sandwich & watched a barge navigate a lock on the canal behind the hotel; German couple being aided by dope smoking Mancunians who were probably not model citizens.

A rather unproductive work day followed & rather pleasant 20 odd mile cycle to clear the old noggin.

Now feet up listening to music through the Zen Mini.

Today, whilst I walked on Aberporth beach the heart consultant phoned me to explain the next set of investigations in a couple of weeks time.

It was a sad day, kinda upsetting.

Thought about getting a dog.

Is that to prevent rats scurrying up and doing damage when they get stuck at the top?

no , an absolute lifesaver! Blooming hard coping with diabetes , especially stopping hypoglyceamic attacks in the elderly who eat at the wrong time etc etc

Diabetes Specialist Nurses are often brilliant in my experience. It's a cliche I know but it can sometimes feel like the consultant sees the illness and the nurse sees the patient.

The folk on the Diabetes UK helpline can be pretty helpful too.

It's actually to keep the rats in. I've grown quite attached to them and their happy scurrying round the Great Hall, but they have a tendency to bite the staff if I leave them behind. Public Health turn a blind eye as long as I don't have them on display and they haven’t dared take chunks out of me since the day one drew blood and immediately died of alcohol poisoning.

Took the wife's Qashqai to Formula 1 for their 3rd attempt at fixing the blowing cat manifold. Finally seems fixed. Won't be going back there for any tyres or exhausts again!

Bought a length of wood to fix the boxing in of the 4" waste pipe, as I had to cut a piece out to fix a leak ages ago. Left it open for months, just to make sure it was fixed. I used some stuff from Amazon, and caked the leaking joint in it, as it was pretty inaccessible (pretty good stuff).

Cut a piece of plasterboard, will fit that tomorrow, then needs a skim.

A bit of Freecycling to offload the vanity units stuck in the garage since the re-furb. Tried eBay for a fiver each, but no joy despite 12 watchers.

Fixed the vent on the barbecue, as the bolt rotted off. Cleaned & covered, no more this year I think.

Cut a bit of ivy back that was creeping across the patio and lawn.

Joined Amazon prime for 99p for a week to watch the tennis at 9.

And relax.....

Pleasant cycle with a few pals today although 3 cars pulled out across us at various points, thankfully I anticipate such idiocy. A little walk around Castlegate & coffee/chat with a few friends before popping in to the excellent KI books & music.

Decent day all round.
