Spent what seemed like eternity in the big Asda in Bedminster buying woks, frying pans and suchlike. Then spent the afternoon wrangling computers. Two of my least favourite ways to spend the day.

Planning new central heating system .

Then big funeral to organise and guy supposed to lead off sick with covid !! 5 big limos so pretty big affair . Fortunately it's summer time otherwise parents can make a lot of noise hooting at the congestion funerals make

Then big family pow wow about various issues

…ah, memories of skinned knees. I can see the the little round tin, the pink contents and recall the smell.
A favourite of my grandparents. My grandad would also gargle with TCP and allow me to do the same. My Nan would go scatty when she smelled us both.

Had a very busy (and surprisingly warm) day yesterday walking around Newark with an old chum and former work colleague who I haven't seen for two years.

Exhausted by home time ... so spent today doing as close as possible to sweet FA :D

Yesterday The Wife came with me to visit the Headway charity shop. Good job as there was some records donated and The Wife carried them to the car.

For the first time a bag of L.P’s have been donated that are about 80% sellable in the charity shop. Normally if I can pick out 5 in 50 albums, that is normal. Frequently they are all worthless to the charity. Really pleased as this makes refilling sleeves for the shop a joy rather than struggling to find something interesting. (I put records from my collection into the shop, makes it worthwhile for the crate-diggers.). Looking forward to dragging through the shop stock and disposing of fillers that are unlikely to sell / 50p. so I can put more expensive records in those sleeves. I only have a limited space so like to make the most of it.
I am going to put the tatty but playable copy of The Beach Boys ‘I Get Around/Don’t Worry Baby’ 7” in the 25p. box. That will please someone.

Tuna/cheese/spring onion ‘melts’ for main meal today. The saliva is in full flow already.

Waiting on a callback from my G.P. or Specialist Nurse concerning management of lower abdominal pain (coming up to 2 yrs. now) and a new distinct pain (2 - 3 months) that I have no idea of the cause.

showing a survey around the church and community centre as we need grants for a new project . it was so brilliant as a big playscheme going on and he was well impressed with the buzzing activity from many children playing games everywhere . wonderful

working on workload planning for some of my subject groups. reading some not very good application forms for a lecturer post (dont people read adverts at all?) - reading and approving some interesting applications for ethical clearance.

Hacked my way round the golf today, and I mean hacked.
Weather was lovely and the parakeets were quiet for once.
Came last. Let’s hope It’s out of my system for a while.

What is out of your system? I don’t understand what it is.

I thought you normally do well at the golfing.

Now that’s relative.
I am a weekly club golfer who usually gets part of the game right.
Today driving, green approach and putting were dreadful from the start and never improved.
Hopefully next week I will play like Arnold Palmer.
Although I only really play for the craic and exercise with my mates.

There will, however, have been that one excellent shot that keeps you going back…;)

Drove to Blandford Camp, School of Signals today from Bristol. Been going there for the best part of 30 years on and off. A drive of country A roads, once passed Bath (how much money do the owners of Bathhampton Bridge make I wonder?). Good to be out in a bit of sun, meeting up with my boss I've not seen in RL for 18 months. Spot of late lunch at the Compton Abbas Airfield. Really enjoyed driving the EV there and back.

Went for our usual three mile dog walk. It’s only 08.15 but the runners are out in considerable numbers. Everything from Adonis to CrippleCreek. Why someone over seventy runs is beyond me. I was in pretty much in every school team( netball excepted) and, except for indolent 20’s was active in running/cycling/surfing until my late fifties. But your body deteriorates . I’m 72 and still kayak gently. But these oldies of both sexes pushing themselves to wheezing/gasping for breath is disturbing. Am I supposed to resuscitate them if they fall off their perch in these COVID times?
