I tried affintiy but to my mind its more like photoshop than aperture, when I did try it there was no photo management which was the main thing for me with aperture and now lightroom.

I tend to agree. Capture One Pro takes the place of Lightroom (import/session/catalog/file management, RAW manipulation), and Affinity Photo is more like Photoshop for retouching, etc.
