I don't want to spend more than I have to but Super UL isn't that much more over a year given your fixed costs. A lot of bikers run SUL anyway don't they? I'm looking for a solution, after all. Is there anywhere you can't get E5 or SUL? There are also the additive things to keep the seals good if using E10. Of course they aren't for nothing either but it's no different from the guys with old classics and soft valve seats having to add lead substitute to UL when 4* was withdrawn.
well another post from the same group mentioned having problems finding E5 in the back of beyond at numerous garages. This was for a Honda. I am not sure it is the plastics as I mentioned above the Amercian version could use up to 10% Ethanol ie E10 ( the USA have had Ethanol petrol for yonks) . I doubt the carbs were radically different to the Uk version? Why Suzuki UK were adamant I dont know but I wasnt going to risk getting a problem bike when I can get a low mileage Yamaha 900s Diversion that will run E10 fine. The two bikes are similar size and weight, 60hp vs 90 hp
