The greatest music films of all time

Twenty Feet From Stardom is a great one about backing singers. Darlene Love! What's not to err love. Oh and Merry Clayton is also in it. And some other people.

Woodstock
Strawberry Statement
Zabriskie Point
Hellza Poppin
Damn Yankies
Performance
Guys and Dolls
The Music Lovers

lots and lots and lots more.

Apparently the "Big O" didn't want the song to be used in the film Blue Velvet but Lynch went ahead anyway. Good decision.

In Dreams?

The film also has Kitty Lester's Love Letters in the car sequence. Both songs are used to transport us deeper into the dark centre of the story.

The OST omits Blue Velvet sung by Bobby Vinton, instead substituting Isabella Rossellini's version sung in the nightclub scene.

I hate its second half and all the love affair part, but I think that Across the Universe deserves a mention. It's a film not about songs, but within songs.

The film about a recording studio in the USA called "Sound City " deserves a mention..also " The girl can't help it" some good performances in that ..
