Still have one; saved it from my Nans when she died in 2013; remember using it as a kid

Used one of them huge batteries with spring-like connectors on top ; weighed a ton!

yep. As someone that had to struggle with battery and dynamo bike lights in the 1980’s, I consider modern LED lighting technology one of the great tech advances of the 21st century.

Think I've blue one too, they were sold in the plumbers merchants for years along with the batteries, they were a kinda of plumber's torch, a staple along with a water key and footprints.

I certainly had a pair of those! Dim and heavy, as was the fashion at the time. I also had a dynamo at one stage which was a truly horrible thing, so much resistance for so little light!

My old man was retained fire brigade, so I always remember him having one of these at the side of the bed. Knowing him it's probably still there.

Yep. Hateful things that were duller than a candle and lasted about 40 minutes on a set of ever ready blue batteries.

Yup, mine was green with white writing. Mark 2 same as that one!

Got this too. Still give it a spin occasionally. Great album.

WOW - just had a flashback to the Raleigh Fourteen that I had in the Seventies. I hated that bike.

Soon got replaced with a peugeot eddy merckx that only took racing tyres that were very expensive, and very little tread. Did miles on that bike.
