Someone just posted a picture of their breakfast on Facebook

its very very common now , you see it all the time on facebook and whatsapp . my family often do when going out to restaurants or perhaps cooked a nice meal

love this lady`s programmes too

I always take pictures of my Cake Builds for Quality Control purposes. I also assign each Cake with a Serial Number.

Useful for Quality Control and to make improvements.

My question is what do you think is strange about it?

What I think is very strange to eat for breakfast is a bowl of industrially processed and highly sweetened grain product swamped with milk. Or at any time, actually.

I can't see the point of taking photos of food. When did that become 'a thing'?

Not sure, but I think the practice goes back a ways.

....a few years ago. Food is the new porn.It comprises most of Facebook, WhatsApp, Snapchat and Twitter traffic.

And as the previous poster points out, it's been around rather more than a few years!

It’s because for a lot of people making a meal is the most creative thing a person will get to do in their day — yes, even frying some eggs; it gets lonely for a lot of ppl especially in lockdown & folk find ways to connect within their own groups — plus it helps folk gain confidence.

Oh for goodness sake they’ve been doing it for years, it’s absolutely nothing to do with lockdowns. It’s attention seeking and/or the addiction to having to post on social media to pretend to everyone else how great their life is. Facebook is poisonous frankly!
