Removing mid range driver from top face of Linn Isobarik.

Ah I think a fair few thought you wanted to remove the driver non destructively.

Certainly de-coning and yanking on the basket is the way the dealers used to do it when new drivers were readily available.

To make it even more fun early models had the drivers stuck in with tar so you had to warm it with a hot air gun too.
Initially....was thinking of perhaps repairing it.....hence the interest in the M7 bolt method.
Then just concluded that nowt was worth saving....?
 
It looks like the mid you removed was not sealed in with any mastic? Was it just a gasket?

Out of severe audio-nervosa I'm wondering if anyone has ever tightened or worked out how to tighten, the 4-bolts holding the 'drain' pipe to the front baffle into which the mids are placed. I just figure after 30+ years they could do with a 1/4 turn. Best picture I could find.
