New universal credit retsrictions

Who decides whether or not you're actually suited/capable of doing the job you're forced to take?

What if you're a complete sociopath and they force you to take a job in a care home, where you give zero f*cks about actual care?

What if you're a completely ham fisted, clumsy oaf that has only been a desk jockey and they force you to take a job in a machine shop then you get your head trapped in a press on the first day?

I trust the DWP/state to get that right about as much as I'd trust Boris Johnson around women that aren't his wife.

In another thread, I suggested Compulsory voting and Education.

One response was, How to Educate?

Now I think this...

Vote or the stupids will elect in the torys!!!
Yes, I think it was me who asked, who educates the educators? But I suppose a better question is what is it that we want to teach?

For me it’s a moral question. Tory Monetarism is demonstrably immoral and an easily proven lie. But it is still the dominant ideology that infects all our political parties.

Not sure that education can tackle that dominance, not sure what can.

The government announced today that if you are unemployed you now have only 4 weeks to apply for job in your area of expertise or experience before being forced to take any job. If you don’t there will be sanctions.

In fairness the Brexit Reich will need countless potato pickers and chicken gutters. Who better than recession-hit artists, architects, educators and socialists to fill those roles?

I predict a crime wave as loads of people who are faced with a choice of starving or being forced to work as a chicken gutter decide that a life of crime seems the least unpleasant option.... and I can't blame them!
