Is the MAX setting that much better than standard FLAC?

Listening to the 192 khz. playlists, I do notice a little better quality. The high-res has a certain "clarity" that the 16bit lacks a bit. Listenning via my Rega Dac-R and Bluesound Node 2i.

Thanks for replying.
I gave it a blast yesterday. Without doing a side by side comparison it's difficult to tell if there's much of a step up. I'm running an Auralic Aries G1 into a Metrum Hex. To be fair it sounded pretty good before the change.
I'll have to do a more analytical comparison when I get opportunity.
