Well hands up I got the Intros wrong. Sat on wooden butcher's blocks new spikes gripping hard they came alive good bass tight and tuneful. I knocked up some grills, simple mdf frame with fabric. As they have the same tweeter as the SBL I have fitted foam (same stuff I had for the SBLs) into the lower half. Looks ok well neater then no grills. Sound was and is much more composed sounds much more balanced. Tried a few different types of music still ruthless with poor recordings but very enjoyable.
I humbly take back my criticism of these old speakers.
Sods law as I get them to work my crossovers came back for the SBLs.

Sounds less than ideal to me? Considering poor recordings means a lot of them.
