My new car (Warning: Porsche content)

I think you're spot on Alan. Not an engine for heavy use in stock form but the experts ironed out a lot of the problems they suffered from!

There are only 2 good V8 cabs IMHO. I fancy an XK at some point but a Coupe - would be good to know how you get on.
Collected today. So much for the weather! We both took on driving duties and are equally pleased. A very refined, easy drive, despite the weather. And bear in mind the XK8 is twenty years old, its sound, very sound. DIts had the all important chains and tensioners changed in recent years and to boot, the gearbox oil changed. My game plan, budgeted for, is for a body work overhaul. A lot of car for not a lot of money (accepting the to be expected ongoing maintenance costs).

Glad you like the car Michael. They are as I said a lovely drive and a nice car to be in.

I hope the body overhaul you mention is not a huge issue. The tell tale signs of trouble on these was always around that brace on the floor pan under the seats. If that is not corroded then hopefully the rest is decent.

Good luck with the new car.

Sounds like a great deal re. the Lotus specialist. You'd pay more than that to rent a lock up!!! Is your DVA on Jenvey throttle bodies or the PTP system Anthony?

Jenvey's, no PTP left in her. Nitrons, EP big bore exhaust, exige gearbox, exige brakes, full interior done in Alcantara by Maison Piotr in Paris plus loads more. I've asked Bauden to put her up for sale yesterday :'(

Edit: My interior guys http://www.mp-sellerie.com/

^ That exige on the cover pic of their catalogue is magnificent (even for one in beige..).
There is just something wonderfully thuggish about that little Mohican ridge on top :)
