I seldom read nowadays but tempted by this. I love HOTS, KOR & enjoyed seeing him at the old Roundhouse. Sad he passed so young.

I was looking at those recently - lovely books. I'm sort of hoping they might show up heavily discounted in a year or so : )This is brilliant. Wonderful photos and some exotic equipment in here, especially US stuff I've never heard of or heard!
The turntable book is also a great read/look.
I read that a few years back, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It also touched on a couple of scenes that aren't usually covered, so I learnt something too.
Normally, I couldn't run to these–but I had some credit I needed to spend on media - related stuff and it wasn't enough for a synthesiser!I was looking at those recently - lovely books. I'm sort of hoping they might show up heavily discounted in a year or so : )
I have just finished the former. I enjoyed it but that enjoyment was dimmed a tad by the subsequent knowledge that the majority of fairly obscure manufacturers who take up space near the end of the book are in fact sold in the shop owned by the author. Talking to friends with much more knowledge than I also opened my eyes to the fact it really ps a very partial and subjective perspective with many key players notably wholly absent. I still enjoyed but it’s a long long way from comprehensive or definitive. This is brilliant. Wonderful photos and some exotic equipment in here, especially US stuff I've never heard of or heard!

Pre-ordered the Trunk book from Rough Trade, strange he hasn't mentioned it via his Friday mailouts though....A couple I spotted in the Rough Trade mailout:
Jonny Trunk - Audio Erotica: Hifi Brochures 1950s-80s
Matthew Collin - Dream Machines: Electronic Music In Britain From Doctor Who To Acid House
His previous 'Auto Erotica' book was a paperback so who knows?Rough Trade says it’s hardback but everywhere else says it's paperback.
