With respect, I think that making a judgement based upon one particular example of any t'table, may not be valid.............. Remember I had a PTP modded one here about 18 months ago and I couldn't believe how average it was considering all the hype...
As for 't'table sound', I'm not too sure what that means, all mine sound slightly different, which isn't really surprising given that they all have different arm, cartridge and 'phono stage combinations, and individually vary in the amount of sound that is decernable when one puts an 'ear' to the motor board or plinth, in fact, when it was last in use, my TD124II was actually the noisiest of my 5 tables. But they all rotate at the correct speed, and allow the content of what is a variable 'medium' (records) to be enjoyed.
Finally, one has to remember what is being discused is a relatively inexpensive machine, my self assembled PTP cost much less than my other t'tables (G99, 401, LP12), and to my now admittedly 'ancient' ears, isn't outclassed by the others, but of course I don't have any experience of the exotic t'tables which are now available and are priced accordingly.
