Well, the GL85 arm doesn't have a decoupled counterweight to sag all over the place. I'm also pretty sure it doesn't use v-blocks. All in all, a fairly sizeable improvement over the GL75's rather 'flexible' arm.
Not sure what you mean about the servos - the deck is belt drive! Are we talking at cross purposes here?
Finally, the platter is not that light! Sure, it's not as weighty as a GL75, but it still weights about the same as, for example, an LP12.
As I said before, the deck is a well-built and well-designed piece of kit. Whilst the GL75 can be upgraded to a very high level of performance, in it's basic form it has a few weak points - flexible baseplate, arm prone to sag, rattly v-blocks etc. The GL85 was probably better in 'stock' form but probably has less potential for upgrading.
As for the TD125, well i'd say that you pays yer money.....
