Judge throws out case against Greta Thunberg

Different times, different issues.

Marching is not only risky now, but is either not reported, or under reported, as in last weekends march against the genocide in Palestine, a march of 200k, but reported by the bbc as being "in the thousands". So, not terrifically effective.

Given that publicity and raising the public profile are of paramount importance, how would you go about achieving this? Any good ideas that haven't been tried before?
Would also point out that people have been marching for action against climate change for years.

You think marching was safe and accurately reported in the 80s? Remember how the miners were treated? If anything the Police are far less agressive these days. CND marches were always reported as being at best half what the actual numbers were. The Gov is never going to report accurately on those who oppose them.

To be honest, there is nothing new to try. It's all been done before. Well almost everything, and those things that are left would equate to terrorism.

Greta Thunberg currently marching in Malmö, along with thousands of other protestors. For Palestine. At a time when campuses all over the world are already filled with Palestine activists.

She is in Malmö for the European-wide momentum given to her by the Eurovision Song Contest.

Why, please tell me why, does this woman not take advantage of this event for relaunching her actual, and - sorry - even more important cause, the climate ? The climate movement has lost much of its impact with those moronic road-blocking activists who earnestly thought they would have public opinion behind them. Climate would have deserved the reemergence of Greta. It’s a pity.

The destruction in Gaza is also bad for the environment, as is the mayhem in Ukraine and other war zones. Cement/concrete is one of the greatest sources of CO2 emissions in the world (around 8% of the total, i.e. way higher than planes, ships or cows belching).

This may have been posted elsewhere but one of a handful of frankly terrifying articles in the Graun yesterday.

The bad news: most climate scientists believe it's far worse than you realise, things are going to go very wrong very soon, and as things stand governments aren't going to save us.

The good news: climate change denial is less prevalent amongst younger generations.

On balance we're probably ****ed.

The ad on this very page shows a Ram-sized MAXUS electric vehicle. Looks like it was made for Ukraine.

A few days ago I read in an article on some manufacturer that electricity consumption could *actually* be lower in a large EV than in a small one.

We already heard this nonsense back then when SUV’s became fashionable. Is humanity really dumb to the point of buying into it once again.
