Hi Mynamemynaim, I fitted these: RF1501TF3SFHC9 on the hackercap6 in my fully working power amplifier and I'm very satisfied. They have an insulated body and this is better for as close are the diodes on the board.
Rectifiers NEVER effect the sound. Simples.
I translate: he wanted to say that he can't hear the differences diodes could cause (and do cause for that matter).
Everybody can compare a Naim style rectifier to the more common bridge rectifier: it will make a difference, in many cases a not so small...
(see here for diagrams)
Your opinion on electronics is worth about as much as mine on brain surgery... but I don't go around trying to tell surgeons where they're getting it wrong
If you knew enough for your opinions to be taken seriously you wouldn't need to keep asking beginners level questions in the DIY area... and basic knowledge such as the outer foil being identified on certain types of capacitors would not be a revelation to you.

I talked about what I hear, not about what I know (except that I know what I hear ). On the contrary I admitted several times that I don't have professional knowledge about electronics. But I do have knowledge of music and what can be heard of it through an amp or system. If that is worth nothing, what's the point of the whole audio business...?
In other words: if an amp designer can't hear a difference between Mozart and Haydn (just as an example from the view point of a classical musician) how can he make the amp deliver the music? I have 40 years experience of understanding these composers. I am not joking. I claim the following: there are amps which clearly transport the content of what the composer wanted to express to the listener. And there are amps which do not. I will have a strong opinion on any amp at least in this regard.
Jez, you are the one who raised the discussion about competences, not me. I am as competent in my field as you are in yours. We all should serve the music, at best as we can. So please stop fighting!
BTW I highly regard your opinions on brain surgery

Says the man who asked for and was given the schematics and PCB design for an amplifier and didn’t say “thank you”, glass houses and all that.
Hi Russel,
I do indeed owe you a public apology and here it is. I checked back through my emails to 27th August 2014 and found two emails flagged red for a response from me, which never came. I suspect it was something to do with my Heart Op which was that same week. I now have a pacemaker!
Sorry
John
