Folk/Acoustic

Excellent list of artists there, particularly like Miss Priddy, album of the year probably for me
- thanks Mac!

"... and well I like the blog, but better I like your RMR Fresh Folk https://www.mixcloud.com/maccar/ podcast... " hope that doesn't sound too sycophantic!

I think I'd probably missed both as I usually consume blogs & podcasts via RSS feeds

but since the sad demise of http://www.folkcast.co.uk and Folk Radio going to a monthly subscription, I've been looking for good sources of new (to me at least) music

and have to drop a mention for the wonderful & venerable https://mikehardingfolkshow.com/category/podcasts/ for others looking like me

Not at all, thanks for the follow on Mixcloud.
I hadn't come across Folk Cast and re Folk Radio, I wrote to Alex saying I thought he was making a mistake by making it subscription only, but he did point out to me that any info in the newsletter will all be available on the website.
Mike Harding is a legend and I do enjoy Mark Radcliff on Radio 2 on Wednesday evenings.

Another good internet Folk show is on a station called Ultimate radio on a Sunday evening from 8 to 10.
My blog isn't really a review site, I'm not that skilled a writer, more of a resource for others to discover new music

Thanks for the recommendation. Just added Ultimate Radio to my streamer (MoodeAudio) & found the previous Folk show on Mixcloud.
I'll have to see if I can time shift it. Usually family supper around then...

Curation is under-rated. Just listening to BBC radio 6 Music atm, as I get a mix of new and old there, that suits me well.

I do like 6 music, but often forget to put it on... I quite like the Tom Robinson show, any others I should look out for?

without doubt with your "folk hat" Cerys Matthews 10:00 on Sundays - Folk, world, and a great variety besides

What I love is the very eclectic mix of genres, and new and old, which I think has almost become their signature.
It's a bit like listening to John Peel of old, I'm happy to hear the 25% I'm not keen on, for the sake of the 10-25% of woow, I wanyt to hear more...
  • Radcliffe & Maconie weekends at 8 - I just like the range and daft chatter
  • Cillian Murphy, Guy Garvey, Iggy Pop always bring something I like I'm not familar with
  • Marc Riley & Gideon Coe in the evenings often have live music

Have been enjoying the Celtic Connections gigs streamed via the online pass. The two Shetland gigs with Fiddlers Bid and friends have been my favourites - the first one especially, a belter!
