That's right! Liz Fraser. I still have the EP somewhere.

What..? This Liz Frazer?

The Pet Shop Boys' Always On My Mind has been voted the top cover version of all time in a BBC Music vote.

The top 10 tracks in the vote are as follows:

Pet Shop Boys - Always On My Mind
Johnny Cash - Hurt
The Stranglers - Walk On By
Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
Soft Cell - Tainted Love
Joe Cocker - With A Little Help From My Friends
Sinead O'Connor - Nothing Compares 2 U
Muse - Feeling Good
Whitney Houston - I Will Always Love You

Only half of them are worth a toss, but you can never underestimate public taste.

Still love this.

Just stumbled this 1972 deep cut from the Last days of the Filmore box set. Perfect match of artist and composition.

Much as I love the original, this may just (*gasp* *heresy*) beat it for me:

A couple more - some good, some not so.

This is for the electric Miles fans - fast forward to about 1:45 or so.

This BBC article got me thinking.

What's the best cover version in your collection or even the most bizarre?

Give me Visage any day, this is utterly horrible, Steve would not be happy, met him a couple of times, lovely guy, very sad to hear of his passing recently.

This girl is very talented.

Check out her guitar work with Zappa Plays Zappa's "Montana" too.
