Me too! Bought with the proceeds of a summer holiday job clearing scrub land for a developer. The volume control was sheer space-age, although disappointingly it lost the backlit illumination after a year or so. I eventually sold it to a fellow schoolmate.

I also had the matching tuner, http://www.thevintageknob.org/sony-ST-J55.html, along with a TCK-81 cassette deck and Beogram 4004, https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=295, all into Mission 700 speakers.

Most of the Sony bits were purchased in 1981 for my 18th birthday.
