Cartridge for old/worn/45s or mono records

The 95C is a great cartridge and will sound fab on your old records. Rhythm and timing are excellent so should be a fun listen. It has nothing like the resolution and clarity of your existing ML but I find it more coherent for some reason. I would say the same of the Rega Carbon.

I'm inclined to think the plastic cantilever DJ one would be better. If it sounds like the 3600L, and I suspect it would sound very similar, it will have a warmer, fuller sound with a rolled off top end. I reckon that's exactly what you want for 45s. Which is probably why Audio Technica made it.

The great thing about the AT VM95 range is that you can buy the TOTL cart + 5 other styli alternatives and still not exceed £500. Covers ability to play everything from 78s to hot-cut premium audiophile vinyl. Heed Craig's warning though about frequent styli swaps loosening the fit over time.
