It might play well with the other hardliners in her party but it will alienate more of the public who’ve already signalled their contempt for Johnson and who are being shafted financially and even having their rivers shat in.

A good point. I think the British public has two sacred cows, the NHS and the BBC. Both have taken a battering under the Tories, but an overt attempt to dismantle either would be a step too far for much of their core base, I think.
