"I have every sympathy for people who are finding it tough, I really, really do.”" Johnson refuses to say whether he could live on universal credit pay.
I think the last time we heard "really" was when William said we're really not racists.

'I weep for you' the Walrus said
'I deeply sympathise'
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.

If his wallpaper episode is anything to go by, then yes, Johnson could live on £118 a week. He would just get other people to pay for everything just as he has done all his life. The £118 a week would just be his pocket money.

At least Thatcher got Murdoch to say "up yours Delors" on her behalf. Our Poundshop PM is making sure the whole world hates the UK.
It’s the same phenomenon as Trump/Bolsonaro/Orban. All the global audience sees of the countries they represent are the gags, the outrageous statements, the trick shows put up by the leaders. The headlines shift from anything of any any substance to what is said that day by the charlatan.
As an example, what will have stuck with the US public- British food and fuel shortages, rocketing energy costs and inflation and not enough HGV drivers to keep the economy going or Boris Johnson talked about Kermit the frog at the UN general assembly?

Brazil? Military coup threats, highest Covid deaths in the world, the rainforest sold off or Bolsonaro arrives at the UN refusing to wear a mask?

Despite questionable attempts to sell Johnson’s NYC jolly as a triumph, seeping out overnight was the claim from Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, that Johnson had sought an emergency food deal with Brazil, supposedly for “some kind of food that is lacking in England”. The British embassy in Brazil says this differs from their recollection of what was said – then again, Johnson claimed he and the US president, Joe Biden, didn’t discuss the Northern Ireland protocol during their meeting last week, when the White House readout very clearly states that they did.

Ha. Johnson couldn’t live on £118 per day, never mind per week

He's apparently unable to live off £3k a week.

Not for the first time, the Prime Minister is facing accusations that he’s moaned about his £157,372 pay packet. According to the Financial Times, the Tory leader is regularly heard saying “I just can’t afford to do this job”.

I guess it should come as no surprise that he's hopelessly inept at managing his finances.

We can't afford him doing that job, either. The problem is, who would replace him if he resigned?
