Andrew Sabisky.

bit rude, but what should I expect from someone who draws conclusions based on nothing but prejudice

You are the one with prejudice, do you really want me to point out again where your problem is as clearly it passed you by last time?

That's right. The Tories should ban all non-whites before they even think about joining.

Or could it be that in the Tories' party manifesto, there are a few other words written than just 'racism' ?

Well the leader likes picanninies for a start.

He has deleted his entire Twitter account now. Wonder if he “superforecasted” that one...

I hope this isn’t something more insidious, like Cummings testing the water for such views to be exposed.

I don’t know, dress it up in some bollocks pseudo-science about genetics and call it something like ‘visionary policy unorthodoxastics’ or possibly something involving the word imagineering.

Seems to have worked for Sabisky.

I meant the tories offering cheese a job.

This is good:

In his resignation tweets, Sabisky claimed (falsely) that his previous comments had been taken out of context. It turns out they're even worse when seen in their proper alt-right context.

And here's a good thread rebuffing Sabisky's claims about eugenics:

But, you have to wonder, why do we have to rebuff this shit in the 21st Century?

On a somewhat related subject there was a superb David Baddiel film on BBC2 last night, Confronting Holocaust Denial, as apparently 1/6 people these days are so profoundly thick or plain evil they deny or attempt to downplay one of the darkest periods in human history. It really deserves its own thread as this shit is all too real and an increasing risk as western society moves ever-rightwards.

hey, we still have to rebuff supply-side economics (often in this very forum, let alone the fringes of society) and that's actually way easier.

on a lighter note, from the guardian piece:

In the article, he praised Land, the philosopher and amphetamine enthusiast considered the founding father of the NRx movement.

i'm imagining: "...in his famous dissertation, Drood praised Arthur Schopenhauer, the philosopher and beer enthusiast..."

Since we’re talking about tories and this has taken over the news, it has crossed my mind they could be getting upto something else right now they don’t want in the news. You always have to be suspicious.

I followed the trail down the NRx rabbit hole for a while this afternoon.

There's no doubt that some highly intelligent people are involved: computer scientists, data analysts and the like.

But once you dig into their verbiage (and boy do they like the sound of their own voices!) they're 100% racist.

Yes, if it looks like a dead cat, and it smells like a dead cat...

Perhaps the whole of N°10's staff, including Boris, should sit down and listen to these short programmes broadcast on Radio 4 last week. I found them very thought-provoking:
How to Argue with a Racist: Adam Rutherford

One good thing has come out of this thread - thanks for the link to a really interesting series of talks. In the US we can still listen to BBC UK radio, even if we can't access iplayer for telly (I miss the sky at night).

As an aside, where do these bollocks self-important titles like "superforecaster" come from anyway? And what, or where is any evidence base for them?

It would be all be more straightforward if these people could cut to the chase and describe themselves as "twats".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superforecasting

Superforecasting: The Art and Science of Prediction is a book by Philip E. Tetlock and Dan Gardner released in 2015. It details findings from The Good Judgment Project.

The Economist reports that superforecasters are clever (with a good mental attitude), but not necessarily geniuses
