Hi
am looking to do a DiY floorstander with the Morel CAT 328 tweeter
Have you worked with this tweeter before ?
what kind of midrange driver will go well with this - maybe a budget of approx GBP 100 to 150 each side
I am also looking at 10 inch woofer suggestions for this ...
regards
i bought my Naim SN2 ex demo from Germany ( i live in India ) last year on a business visit..
well... business + SN2 visit :)
i like the SN2 lots - does things very nicely for me.
high sensitivity, reasonable power handling, not too big a room...
maybe a reference 3A De Capo i ??
or the De Vore ?
some tannoys too..
there are many satisfying this criteria
Have had 2 weeks on the Metrum Amethyst
It has a nice form factor
The sound is very clear and somewhat more detailed i think than my CD 960
My stock and cheap USB cable turned out to be a show stopper and i had a nice USB cable made for me by a friend that much improved things soundwise...
too far away from me else i would have come over and picked up the Naim DAC :)
i am looking forward to getting the Metrum Amethyst home on Monday for a 2 week period.
I am looking at this too..

The schiit yggdrasil was a older one with older analog board but Gen 5 USB input
New Yggdrasil USD 2399 have the analog 2 board ( retrofit cost USD 550 and that too send back the dac to USA or singapore ) and Gen 5 module pre fitted
The 5 year warranty wasnt transferable too..
The asking...
There is a schiit yggdrail now in the mix with the latest Gen 5 USB for GBP 1400
seller is a known person
an audio friend used to have this Yggy and he sold it to the present seller to focus on vinyl.
Its a 230 V India power supply model.
I have to check if this the Analog 2 one or not but...
Thanks for the pricing tips
considering i am in India and maybe a slight premium over pricing in UK - i will make an offer for GBP 1000 to the seller
If not - i guess the Rega DAC R at GBP 650 looks better value
its new and 1 year warranty too.
Maybe i can buy GBP 350 worth of music to play...
