New Neat Motive sx2s, new Naim NAC A5 cables with Naim plugs on each end and attached to an xs2. Loving the music! Question is, has anyone tried other banana plugs instead of Naim plugs at the speaker end? I'm too lazy and my soldering skills too poor to faff about myself. Any thoughts?

Excellent! More voodoo! Always reassuring that it's not just me fooling myself! I'm currently listening to De Phazz at relatively low volume and can feel the bass. No boom, no flab. Pastorius next I think from the glory days with Weather Report.

Yup, that's the voodoo, a carefully tuned downward firing port. I'm still flabbergasted by how effective it is and wondering why more speaker manufacturers don't try to use the technique. It can't completely overcome room boundary problems but it certainly makes siting speakers easier.

This was meant to be a bit of fun and a bit of curiosity. There aren't any magic ratios. I agree with highest quality at the front hierarchy and like Minio 's thinking too. My speakers don't really suit my room so they make have to go. Sometimes house moves have unfortunate consequences..........
