Buchardt A500 speakers - Game changer?

The White cabinet option, as shown in the video, has now sold out. I suspect there's a big demand for these speakers. FL390

    Active Speakers

Paulq2 must be thinking of the passive S400's which have a rear facing bass radiator. The active A500 is a different beast and doesn't have or need a passive bass radiator. It has a rear facing bass driver that works with the front mounted mid/bass unit, in a 2.5 config. out of the box. Both of...

Buchardt A500 speakers - Game changer?

Everyone who's heard them so far, appears to be very impressed. The 45 day no quibble trial is very tempting.

Buchardt A500 speakers - Game changer?

I've started this thread as a spin off from the Buchardt S400 thread, as they're completely different speakers. One is active, the other one passive, different driver arrangements, different driver materials, the active being wireless and having DSP + room correction etc.

Buchardt audio s400 anybody heard them?

We could do with a new thread for the A500's. Everyone who's heard them so far appears to have been mightily impressed. The 45 day no quibble trail is very tempting.

Coronavirus - the new strain IV

The Luftwaffe Airbus took 6 patients back to Germany for treatment. They also took 2 patients from Strasbourg, France. I’m not sure if this is a political gesture, following the angry bust up at the EU heads of state council meeting on Thursday.

Is this down to Cummings as well?

ATC SCM40: Which finish would you suggest?

I love ATC. Great sounding speakers, but their range of cabinet finishes and styling are a weak point. I would have thought that in the “entry level” range (7, 11, 19, 40) they would have at least offered natural oak and a contemporary looking walnut finish (with the strong grain look)...

    HS.2

In part it doesn't and isn't meant to. They are two separate capacity problems that both have to be addressed; HS2 deals with N-S capacity and NPR is meant to deal with E-W and local northern capacity. However, by removing the N-S inter-city services from those local lines around Birmingham...

    HS.2

Going on about speed and journey time savings are the result of very poorly informed media and politicians, as well as a badly managed PR effort from HS2 ltd. Even if they’re going to harp on about the time savings, why only mention the smallest time saving between London and Birmingham? London...

    HS.2

Both. If nothing is done to significantly increase capacity on the WCML, by moving all the long distance inter-city trains services onto HS2, there won’t be enough seats or even standing room to cope. It’s bad enough now at the peak times, but with increasing demand, within the next 10 to 15...

    HS.2

NPR, HS3 or whatever you want to call it, is only a concept at the moment, with no actual route or active detailed design in place, or any act of Parliament getting anywhere near being drafted. There’s a long way to go before it reaches that stage, never mind construction actually starting. HS2...

2035 - the end of the Internal combustion engined cars. (Uk)

Modern cars, we’ll looked after, should easily exceed 100,000 miles. The killer is the economic viability of repairs and replacement parts. There are lots of 10 to 15 year old cars on U.K. roads, but many of them have relatively low mileages, we’ll below 100,000 miles. Equally, the scrap yards...

2035 - the end of the Internal combustion engined cars. (Uk)

It’s an interesting subject. The battery’s charge capacity reduces over time and they reckon once below 70% it ceases to be practical for continuing use in the vehicle. That doesn’t mean the battery is dead or useless and has to be scrapped. There’s plenty of useful life left in them for other...

2035 - the end of the Internal combustion engined cars. (Uk)

Practical hydrogen fuel cell cars are also battery powered. The fuel cell provides a charge to a battery and it’s the battery that directly provides the power to the electric motors. The Hyundai Nexo is the best of only two current production cars, with real world practicality. It cost nearly...
