    Back to the 80s...

I quite liked how many had inbuilt speaker selectors. A pity now that many don't. That and/or a switchable pre-out would probably help quite a few setups that are used for daily as well as critical listening. Infuriatingly my SuperUniti can indeed flick between the Pre-Out / Speaker Out /...

    Hegel H190 question

Considering buying a preowned H190... can anyone who has one (or another Hegel) confirm whether Airplay and Spotify Connect can power on the amp if it's off?

    Naim Superuniti Dated?

I've a SuperUniti (and UQ2) and love it for the most part. It has a nice powerful amplifier and handles my P3ESRs grand. I presume you're planning to sell your Uniti to fund the upgrade. As the previous poster said if you're happy with what the Uniti does from a streaming point-of-view then...

Multi-room setup and replacing Naim with NAD/Devialet?

The Bose can do Airplay but the Superuniti can’t. (I have AirUpnp on a R-Pi but it’s a bit kludge). The C368 sounds like a nice unit!

Multi-room setup and replacing Naim with NAD/Devialet?

Looking for opinions and any experience of similar problems here. My sitting room and kitchen are within earshot and I tend to "float" from one to the other. The setups in both are unconnected from each other and frustrating to use. Sitting room is acoustically not the best, but a Naim...

    Speaker switch

Just make sure it has nice large internal wiring, and avoid anything with impedance matching or other “helpful” features. Something the Dynavox AMP-S would probably do the trick. Just out of interest, have you two rooms or a second set of speakers in the same room?

    Superuniti advice please.

Another SU owner here... I think at the current second hand prices it’s hard to beat for what you get. Compared to the newer Uniti series I like the fact that it has a standard analogue preamp, and personally I prefer it’s more traditional interface. You could definitely use it without the...

Speaker options for large narrow kitchen

OP here again, thanks everyone! Plenty of food for thought... I've a SuperUniti and P3ESRs in the sitting room and was planning to either use my spare UQ2, UQ2 + power amp, or power amp from the SU's pre-out to drive the kitchen. I had thought about a Muso where the Bose Wave unit is but it...

Speaker options for large narrow kitchen

I'm looking for some ideas about speakers for a largish kitchen, it's about 3.5m by 7.5m. Half dining-area, half-kitchen. Looking for room-filling sound rather than critical listening. (Speakers will be driven from main room next door by a spare amplifier.) https://imgur.com/a/MDxWQKQ I'd...

Dealers that go the extra mile...

Across the water over here in Ireland I’ve had a few great experiences with Cloney Audio. They really went the extra mile when I bought a set of speakers that didn’t work in my room. (I was convinced they would when I heard them in store, lesson learned). And they make a nice cup of tea!

    Large speakers in small room

How far from the wall are your SHL5+? I have P3ESRs in a room that size and they sound great, but would love something with a bit more scale.

Room boom problem - speakers need to go?

OP here again, thanks everyone for all the great advice. I'm amazed how much I still don't know about HiFi despite having had it as my guilty pleasure for a few years.. From reading everything above and some other discussions, I've decided that the speakers need to be changed to ones more...

Room boom problem - speakers need to go?

Should've known this wasn't going to be easy, and I finally appreciate the value of a home demo!... In my new house the living room is almost square, roughly 4.5m x 4.5m. Currently it has no wall decorations in it, but it's probably going to be sparse enough. The speakers have to be on one...
