A temperature regulated soldering iron is quite high up my list.
I'd also like a cnc controlled router and a 3d printer but don't think I've been good enough.
Thanks Seanf.
I'm looking to put some absorbing materials on the walls behind my speakers and even have the timber cut and the insulation bought for two, four foot square traps. My plan (don't know if it will ever happen tbh), is to cover them with black speaker cloth and put a big 'Marshall'...
That's very nice indeed.
I'm looking to do the same. I have a 3B+ running Volumio, with the 7 inch touch screen and an SPDIF hat.
I'm trying to find a case to house the screen. I have an old and broken Linn LK amp that I may sacrifice for the case, but would prefer a Naim olive shoebox to go...
Is it not a bit bizzare that the OP comments on how they've copied a commercially available product but won't post their schematic in case it gets copied?
This is exactly what I'll be doing next week. My Qudos boards are in the post.
I'll be doing the caps at the same time, both the smoothing caps and the ones on the reg.
Did I once read that the Headline uses a similar circuit to Naims regular amps, just with a lower supply voltage to reduce power ?
Any internal picture I've seen doesn't look anywhere near similar. It's just that from this weekend I'll have a spare pair of 140 boards and was curious about using...
I meant to mention that I once "aquired" a sheet of aerolam and had various turntables sat on that for years. Mostly on wall mounted racks.
Probably the ideal material. Very light and very rigid.
Wonder what happened to that piece ?
I built a tripod version of a "flexirack" about 25 years ago and have been using it ever since.
Mine is the only three legged version that I've ever seen and also has the equipment sat on thick mdf slabs, which in turn sit on the rack frame on oak cones. The oak cones came from a diy store and...
I thought there was a theory that if one of the caps (forget which one), blows it can dump full PSU voltage onto the speaker.
I know something similar happened to the Linn as I measured 35v across the speaker terminal.
Thanks everyone. Seems that keeping them after passing them through Class A Audio might be the way to go.
I'd also thought of going the Avondale Audio upgrade path, my brother has done that with his 140 and is delighted.
I have checked the amps with cheaper speakers (no need to buy a pair for...
