    Rwanda

Deservedly the most recommended comment in the Guardian today: Natalie Bennett (Baroness Bennett of Manor Castle) in the House of Lords at midnight last night:

    War declared, Israel v Palestine...

The BBC is too busy salivating about the ludicrous small boats government “win”. Imagine if 300 bodies had been dug up in Ukraine? It would be pasted across all the papers.

    War declared, Israel v Palestine...

It’s worth quoting the text from that article and counting the number of children the IDF murdered while they slept: “Israeli strikes on the southern Gaza city of Rafah overnight killed 13 people, including nine children, health officials have said. The first strike killed a man, his wife and...

Recommended movies etc on Netflix/Amazon Prime III

I watched Baby Reindeer and Ripley this week. They’re the best shows I’ve watched on Netflix in a long time. Ripley in particular is exceptional. Every frame has been carefully crafted and oozes style. Andrew Scott’s portrayal of Ripley is chilling. Baby Reindeer as mentioned previously is...

    War declared, Israel v Palestine...

Yep. BBC R4 hosting someone who has described London as a "no go" zone for Jews at the weekend due to these pesky extremist/terrorist protestors. How dare people protest against the slaughter of innocent women and children....can you all just stay inside and bite your lips please? Robin...

    War declared, Israel v Palestine...

Heartbreaking footage and stories from Palestinian children on the BBC news tonight, asking what they have done to lose eyes, limbs, parents and siblings in the ongoing massacre. There are no words to describe the people committing these atrocities. Nor those who continue to sanction...

    Funky/Stylish Ties

I’d look at Duchamp or Boss for nice ties without spending silly money. If you want to up your budget have a look at Ferragamo.

    Sports car chat

I cancelled my V6 Emira as got hacked off with being messed around by Lotus regarding delivery dates. Looking at the terrible residual values, it's not a decision I regret for a moment. I read today they're replacing it in 2027 with an all-electric sports car.

Tory leadership failure Part V: Rishi ‘Infosys’ Sunak

Marina Hyde on point as usual: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/jan/19/tories-squid-game-rwanda-policy "Presiding over episode 987 of the chaos is Rishi Sunak, who is even less watchable as Uncle Scar than he was as Simba" 😆

    Emma Raducanu continues to improve.

Emma showed yesterday glimmers of how well she can play. If she could play like that every point that match would have been over very quickly. However, she’s clearly struggling either physically or mentally in pressure situations and requires support to resolve these issues. I don’t agree it...

Tory leadership failure Part V: Rishi ‘Infosys’ Sunak

It’s embarrassing to see Rishi stretching over his “stop the boats” lecturn, proclaiming his deranged policy to be the will of the people. I suppose “stop our schools from crumbling”, or “reduce child poverty in the UK” aren’t quite as catchy or more likely, as important to him?

    Emma Raducanu continues to improve.

She’s making far too many unforced errors so far. This first set is almost over for her.

    War declared, Israel v Palestine...

She's vile. In a parallel world where the UK Government was not complicit in what's happening, she should have been expelled the moment she started her hate-filled rants. I wasn't aware of Israel's plan to "voluntarily relocate" Palestinians to the DRC. Presumably they have their hands full...

    War declared, Israel v Palestine...

Excellent article by Nesrine Malik in The Guardian this morning: What does it mean to erase a people?
