If he quits as PM until his replacement is found the queen appoints an interim successor.Well that's my point - it's just not credible. Surely Raab, being Deputy PM, could stand in much more straighforwardly...
The gullible’s choice seems to be Truss.Time to place your bets. My money is on someone who’s so far kept their head down. Maybe Raab, Hunt, Truss.

Boris Johnson will resign as Conservative leader today - he will continue as Prime Minister until the autumn.
A Conservative leadership race will take place this summer and a new Prime Minister will be in place in time for the Tory party conference in October.
Unacceptable- get him out today. Removal trucks round the back, physically remove him without delay.Johnson to resign today...

But stay on until the autumn?!
Ah well, as we know, Johnson's word is his bond, so nothing to worry about...
If Raab was going to stand as replacement in the election he couldn’t take over.According to what's being reported, he'll stay as PM until the party conference in October. He could cause quite a bit of chaos between now and thn, but Raab seems pathetically inadequate as a substitute.
Any thoughts on a worthy replacement to lead us all out of this shit storm ?

Steve Baker for PM!
I found that utterly offensive. It shows they’ve learned nothing- the whole rotten, corrupt shower have to go.Gotta love Zahawi's letter including "keeping a dangerous anti-semite out of No. 10", but presumably too scared to actually put a name to the person? Quality right wing bluster for their supporters.
