China Crisis - Difficult Shapes And Passive Rhythms (Some People Think Its Fun To Entertain) (Virgin LP) (1982)

I remember Peel playing the first 3 tracks one after each other before it was released because he loved it.
Going into tech on the following Tuesday as a 17 year old after buying it, I recall having to defend China Crisis against 'fat boy' Robert Smith and the gothy and snooty The Cure fans who thought they knew more 'about music than me'....Joking aside, that first China Crisis album is still a great record.

Bought this off Tony on spec just because I liked his recent ‘Another Land’. Solo cello isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but this worth the effort. I wonder if it’s the album he would most like to be buried with? All my own work sort of thing…

If that fails - then I will entice Lisa over to riffle my L.P. sleeves

Then engage her in witty conversation about cables and how I once met and played Golf with Charlie Williams.

I reckon Lisa has met Charlie and knows how lovely he was.

Here's hoping that nothing untoward besets your lovely wife, but, in the very unfortunate event, Lisa won't know what has hit her !
