What does it take to get rid of the digital haze?!

As I heard someone rise put it, it sounds like a dentist's drill!

I'm wondering how much I need to spend before I stop hearing it!

Is it still the case that a digital setup that gets close to analogue costs thousands?

Never heard it myself. I do hear vinyl clicks and pops though, which is ok with some music, but a bummer with Classical.
At least with Classical they don't add vinyl sound effects to the Master - I assume? A couple of LPs lately would have gone back if I hadn't streamed them first.

No equipment will ameliorate your pain.

Grab a Bluesound Node 2i(or similar device with bit perfect coax digital out) and a Metrum Octave for relatively peanuts and you'll be rid of it. I still miss mine sometimes most analogue sounding digital product I've had.

Interesting point about Blutack. I must try that.

in days of yore I found that a 100nF CKR06 worked well enough, if not aesthetically pleasing
