What is your current system? part II

Not to hijack this into a thread on VU-meter envy, but...

...I just want it so bad:

Ok, sorry. Carry on.

Oh, err... my current system, while I'm here:
Rega Planet 2000 cd
a couple of turntables, neither of which really loosens my socks
John Shearne Phase 2 Reference integrated amp
Shahinian Obelisks
wire to connect it all
an Ikea thing to elevate it off the floor

What is that?

VU meters are fun. My dad had a Sansui tape deck with nice VU meters. I miss watching them flicking away...

Looks to me like the 'bastard son' of Accuphase and Mcintosh...

Well... Now, those wooden side-cheeks and big VU's remind me of another amp:

Anyway. As for my system...

Just bought myself a Hafler power amp.

New acquisition:

Linn K3000 Stands.... wow those look good!

Indeed ! Only thing I am missing in the setup right now is some more bottom end. I am seriously considering adding a sub of sorts...

Ah, so the famous "settling-in" period of Mana actually refers to the carefully calculated amount of dust needed to dampen any remaining resonances.

Shame they dumped those lovely rotary controls. Turning the dial to 33rpm is strangely exciting if I've had a tedious day at the office.

Those may or may not resemble Mana stands. They may or may not actually be Mana stands, or rather have been Mana stands. They or may not have been modified in certain ways. Mr Dunbar-Watson may or may not have "missed a trick" during his many hours of soul-destroying nerdery. ;)

Talking about dust, has it struck anyone else that Curling is the perfect sport for women? They get to use a domestic tool and stand around chatting alot.

Quite a few changes to the system recently so time for a recap:

Panasonic DVD recorder Transport
Behringer DEQ2496
Pink Triangle Dacapo DA converter
Brinkmann Lagrange Turntable
Brinkmann 10.5 Tonearm
Brinkmann EMT Cartridge
Django transformer volume control preamp
Borbely audio 420 phono stage (mm/mc)
PMC MB2-A active speaker
(includes:
2 * Bryston 3B-SST Amplifier customised
2 * Bryston 7B-SST Amplifier customised
2 * Bryston 10B crossover customised)
Townshend Seimic sink Stands for equipment rack and speakers
WNA Custom built cables

Next things to try are an S&B based TVC and stepup.

Nick.
