Love all the pics guys...this is a great thread...

Thought I'd share as well. First my main rig which is all Rega with a van den Hul wiring loom and Dynavector cartridge.

Nice - I'll bet that's a really good fun system to listen to. Are the speakers the R5's?

Just got myself a pair of these little puppies...

IMG_2985.jpg

They hadn't been used in over a year (they were sat in the corner of the shop at Noteworthy Audio) so sounded a little congested to start with. Now, they sound like Royds should - fun, fast and hurling shedloads of musical energy at the listener. I absolutely love 'em. :)

They came with the heavy metal bases attached but they tend to sound a little over-damped and slightly boomy with them fitted. The granite boards don't make a huge difference but it just means I can move the speakers about much more easily.

Something of a heterogeneous "mix 'n match" system that has evolved over the years - largely due to the prevalence of what is referred to here in Johannesburg as "affirmative shopping".

Strictly 2-channel (HTIB in TV room for the girls), this is main system (Study has Denon DM-31 with Tannoy Mercury MX2 and MXSUB).

Much time spent here...

Decided that the PL71 needed a little treat for its 35th birthday (yes it's 35 years old this month)...

It's still running in at the moment - Peter at Noteworthy warned me that these old things take a long time to bed in. Still, for now it's sounding extremely good, sharing a lot of the 103's inherent ballsy, full-fat presentation yet with a large does of subtlety and detail added to the mix. On vocals it really is something to behold, even to the point where previously hard to decipher lyrics are easier to understand.

Got it just in time as the prices of the SPU's have just rocketed (along with everything else it seems).

Few hundred CD's
Loads of Minidiscs
Handful of tapes
Never downloaded music.

Meridian 206DS
Naim (olive)
NAC62
NAP180
EPOS ES14

All owned from new and in original cond (probably about time I had the amp and pre-amp serviced) but IMHO it still sounds pd good.

Also newish Dell laptop and EDIROL UA1EX USB dac (our cat is stalking the unplgged USB end of it around the floor as I write) really just to start looking at ripping some CDs to disc to see what the quality is like and if I want to go down this route.

AndrewM - I bought the Nap 90 from a fellow PFM'er in a quest to complete the second system but it ended up currently playing in my main system.

I actually have neither room nor need for a second system but I hate disposing of my beloved equipment!
