Linn Isobariks - replacing the mid and bass drivers with Falcon units

If you can, leave them playing quite loud with full range signal for a few days. you can do this with the two speakers facing each other a few inches apart and some blankets over them if continuous noise is an issue.
The wool linn used is very good and will have been weighed to the designers specs.
They do look a bit over stuffed to me, but free them up and go from there.
That's a really good idea, thanks!...I'll do that once I've reduced the wadding, which is really bugging me ATM.
 
You can leave the resistors in place for now and try adding 2db to the mid and see how the sound changes.

From memory the B110A is quite a bit less sensitive in the mids than the B110B.
 
The original Kef spec sheets quote a sensitivity pink noise input for 96dB @ 1 metre on axis 12.5 volts RMS for the SP1003 versus 11.2 volts RMS for the SP1057.
That's very interesting - I don't know that. Might explain why the midrange from the FB110s sounds a little recessed (?)
