pfm has always been very Naim-centric though, that's why they get a lot of discussion on here (take a look at the DIY pages, and the classified section used to be mostly Naim at one point although it's more diverse now). And yes, some other brands are equally if not more so outrageously priced.

This might do the job - it has a plain shaft though, and I'm not sure if the 252 has knobs that push onto a splined shaft? This pot is used in the earlier olive-era preamps - 102, 82, 52 etc. Ignore the brass jacket that Naim put on the motor in the 82/52, it's decorative...

TBH I think the DBLs are disappointing for all the fantastical hype built up around them. I was a DBL owner for some time but sold them on to a Naim enthusiast. Same as done on Avondale Voyagers, NCC300 and the new SE400 then (and probably others too) - separately-regulated front end. I've been doing the same to Naim amps myself for years, with the right regulator it's an excellent upgrade.
