Yes, there are some K mount Takumars (I have one - an 80-200 zoom that cost around £10 on Ebay) - I thought they weren't multicoated though (and therefore wouldn't be labelled SMC).
 
yeah, there are definitely pre-multicoated Super Takumars and post multicoating SMC Takumars and then SMC-Pentaxes and lastly just "Takumar" - used for marketing purposes. The most lauded one of the 50mms seems to be the Super Takumar 50mm 1.4

I suspect Guy was referring to the model from the 1960s.

Remember, too, that obsessing about lenses just isn't necessary. They all take great pictures. But if it's fun for you, then do it! Messing around with cameras and lenses is safe, pleasant, legal, and harms no one. All things considered, it doesn't rank very high on the scale of silly vices.
